This piece was more than just a job; it was a full-circle moment with someone who’s played a meaningful role in my journey as an artist.
Tom Davis, owner of Davis Family Farms, hired me to create a painted photo stand for his farm. I first met Tom back in 2019 while working a hemp harvest on land he owned in Central Maine. From day one, he gave off “uncle energy.” Warm, trustworthy, and always looking out for others.
Over the years, he’s become a true friend and supporter, giving me opportunities that helped shape my path: commissioning my first-ever pet portrait, inviting me to paint at his corn maze grand opening, and generously sharing his land for camping, kayaking, and even fiddlehead picking.
Working on this piece felt like honoring that connection rooted in kindness, trust, and a whole lot of Maine grit.
